Rep. Jim Kerr’s admonishment to a witness to “Shut it!” during a committee hearing Wednesday evoked memories of Austin Powers and his “Zip it!”
The witness, Kimberly Bodin, a nurse in the Department of Corrections, testified on HB12-1321 and HCR12-1001, measures to modernize the state personnel system. She said Kerr wanted to take away her pension benefits, a reference to Kerr carrying legislation opposed by the Public Employees Retirement Association.
Kerr is a Littleton Republican who chairs the State Veterans & Military Affairs Committee. Here’s the exchange between the two, as reported by Rocky Mountain Community Radio.
